Famous Cities of the World: Moscow

Moscow is the seat of political power in Russia, but it is also the country’s cultural and commercial center. From the storied streets surrounding Red Square to the modern new Moscow-City, the Russian capital is crammed with artistic, historic, and otherwise sacred sites. Moscow is once more assuming its position as the capital and mother city of the ancient state of Russia. Moscow is a major political, economic, cultural, religious, financial, educational, and transportation centre of Russia and the world, a global city. It is also the seventh largest city proper in the world, a mega city.

Moscow is safer than any of the large US cities. Political environment is stable and improving. Moscow is one of the world biggest mega polis. Moscow is the heart of the arts in Russia, with the historic Bolshoi Theatre still staging ballets, operas and concerts. Tverskaya Street is the center of the city’s entertainment and nightlife with several luxurious bars and restaurants.

Moscow is vivid and controversial, full of bright colours of wide avenues and charming secrets of narrow lanes, sparkling in sunshine of July and wet under the chilly rains of November. An ancient city with rich history and age-old traditions, it has a pretty hobby to change its face from season to season, from street to street, from area to area, from year to year, from age to age. Moscow is one of the oldest and most impressive cities in Europe. It dates back to around 1147, when it is first mentioned in historical records. Moscow is considered by many the most interesting and historical city in Russia. Visitors to Moscow can expect an itinerary filled with architectural masterpieces, historical landmarks and some of the most beautiful churches in the world.

Moscow is the capital and the largest city of Russia; it has a rich and diverse heritage. Visitors to Moscow have the opportunity to see some impressive cathedrals, palaces and many beautiful buildings. Moscow is extremely wealthy and surprisingly inconvenient for tourists. Its main sights are located in a small area surrounding the Kremlin, but this area is so interesting and so unique that it easily compensates for the lack of other sights. Moscow is lacking enough sub-cultures and the underground.

Moscow is the capital of the Russian Federation, and it has played an important role throughout Russia's history for over 850 years. Today, Moscow is Russia's most populated city (home to more than nine million people), as well as its political, educational and cultural center. Moscow is one of the most irregularly built cities in the world. It is characteristic of a nation in a transition state. Moscow is able now to claim that it has the Moldovan leadership’s agreement to keep its troops in the Transdniester region so long as a political settlement is not reached. And as Russia is the real second party to the Transdniester conflict, it is up to her whether such a settlement will be reached or not.

Moscow is such amazing place! I've been many places in Europe and in Russia as well and it is on the top tier cities of Europe in my mind. Moscow is one of the world’s major capital cities, with entertainment and nightlife to match the title. The traditional offerings of classical music and drama have been joined in recent years by a vibrant and often extravagant array of nightclubs. Moscow is also the political, economic and cultural center of Russia. The city accounts for 12.5 percent of Russia's gross domestic product; 80 percent of the country's financial strength is concentrated in the capital as well.

Moscow is also one of the greenest cities in Europe with 96 parks and 18 gardens.
